Just yay.
You touch on some really great poi...Yay. Just yay.

You touch on some really great points here. Not only is the fan vs. critic dilemma something that I, too, have encountered (I wrote a Harry Potter review in high school and it was mostly just the unfiltered ramblings of a die hard fan), but the dilemma of conflict of interest is something all of us journalism students here on the K campus have faced. It's virtually impossible to not know your sources (or not know someone who knows them) for almost any on campus interview for the Index, for example. I’m hoping to learn about how to navigate these types of questions/issues during our class this semester as well. I watched the movie and all. Finally, as I realized it was going to be impossible to me to stand in a neutral field to write the review, I gave up and I wrote about 'Django Unchained'. The problem was that I love Tarantino a lot as well, so I wasn't impartial again and I couldn't reflect that in the review.

Anyways, what I wanted to say is that I completely understand you. I LOVED 'The Hobbit' (I've always thought is even a better book than 'LOTR'), but if you want to make a fair review you have to do what you did: try to think as another person and analyze the film in the cold light of day.

I agree with Kelsey: there should be a "like" button here.aniturixhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02357277073383937431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5572926939505299582.post-47859053190188187252013-01-29T16:56:57.798-08:002013-01-29T16:56:57.798-08:00Blogger's biggest fault is that it doesn't...Blogger's biggest fault is that it doesn't have a "like" button.
